  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make mashed potatoes with mushrooms? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Peel the potatoes and rinse them to remove dirt.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place the peeled potatoes in a cooking pot. If the potatoes are large, then they can be cut into 2-3 parts. This way it will cook faster. Fill the potatoes with water until they are completely submerged. Place the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Cook the potatoes over low heat for 20-30 minutes. The potatoes should become soft.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While the potatoes are cooking, start preparing the mushrooms. You can use any mushrooms you like. I have fresh champignons. Rinse the champignons thoroughly in running water. Then cut the mushrooms into large slices. Pour some vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and add chopped mushrooms. Fry the mushrooms for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

During frying, the mushrooms will decrease in size and some moisture will appear. It will partially evaporate. Add garlic, passed through a press, to the mushrooms. Add salt and ground pepper to taste. Warm everything together for a couple more minutes and remove from heat so that the mushrooms do not dry out.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

When the potatoes are soft, drain the hot water and add the butter. Mash the potatoes with a masher and add warm milk. For a more uniform consistency, you can use a blender. By the way, milk can also be replaced with cream.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The finished mashed potatoes are not very thick and not runny. Adjust the consistency to your taste by adding milk.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place mashed potatoes on a plate and fried champignons on top. Serve hot. Bon appetit!

What could be easier than making simple mashed potatoes with mushrooms? While the potatoes were boiling, I fried the champignons with garlic and onions (I added onions of my own, they are not specified in the recipe), I only took a clove of garlic for a light aroma. The only spices I used were ground black pepper on the tip of a knife. First, I stewed the mushrooms in a frying pan until all the liquid had boiled away (about 15 minutes), then fried, stirring, for another 7-8 minutes. I prepared the puree according to the recipe, but added less butter (about 1.5 tablespoons). It turned out to be a great dinner! Thanks for the idea!
