Mackerel baked in foil in the oven with lemon

A very quick, tasty and healthy fish dinner! Mackerel is a fragrant, juicy, affordable fish. Baked in the oven, it becomes healthier than fried. And using foil when baking greatly simplifies the process, and there are fewer dirty dishes. Very good recipe!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make mackerel baked in foil in the oven with lemon? Prepare your food. My fish was not gutted, I took special spices “for fish”.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The first step is to gut the mackerel. To do this, cut it along the belly from head to tail and remove the entrails. It is also better to remove the black film that covers the inside of the abdomen. I'm going to bake the fish head on. If you want, you can cut it off.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

A deep baking sheet works well for baking mackerel in the oven. It needs to be lined with foil. Grease the foil with vegetable oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Put our fish down. Salt and season on both sides and inside the belly.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cut the lemon into large slices and place on top of the fish.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cover with a second piece of foil and fold the ends inward so the bottom foil is tightly curled. Then nothing will leak out. Place the baking sheet with the fish in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

After 20 minutes, remove the baking sheet and carefully remove the top layer of foil. Carefully! Hot steam inside! Don't get burned! Leave the already opened fish for another ten minutes in the oven until it browns. I turned on the convection mode. Remove the finished fish and serve after cooling slightly.

For lunch I made mackerel baked in foil in the oven with lemon. My fish was frozen, so I had to leave it at room temperature the night before to thaw. In the morning I cleaned the mackerel, removed the insides, and rinsed it under running water. Then she salted it on both sides and inside the belly, sprinkled it with Italian herbs and, making cuts on the carcass, placed lemon slices in them. I baked the mackerel in foil, placing it in a deep form. The oven temperature was set to 220°. After 20 minutes the fish was ready. We ate it, easily separating the meat from the bones; I didn’t notice any small bones at all. Sealed in foil, the mackerel retained all its juices and came out juicy, tender and aromatic, with a pleasant lemony tang! Thank you very much for the recipe!

I already wrote somewhere about fish... it tastes better in a smokehouse... if you don’t have it, try it in a slow cooker with the addition of liquid smoke... don’t wish it, the mackerel turns out amazing

I also make a longitudinal cut on the back and put greens there too, and I also lay the fish on a bed of onion skins and it turns out a very nice color.

Nice recipe! I cook it the same way, only instead of butter I add mayonnaise and one egg, it turns out stuffed mackerel. And before removing from the oven, turn on the grill for a couple of minutes. It turns out with a delicious crust!!!
