STEP 1

How to make lean flatbreads on water without yeast in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary products. It is advisable to take vegetable oil without a pronounced aroma; the ideal option is extra virgin olive oil.
STEP 2

Sift the wheat flour into a large bowl, add ground black pepper and stir. Thanks to sifting, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the cakes will turn out more tender. Heat the water to 80-90 degrees, add salt to the water and stir until all the salt crystals dissolve. Gradually add salted water to flour. It may require a little less or more water. Focus on the consistency of the dough. Add vegetable oil and knead into plastic dough.
STEP 3

Cover the dough with a clean bag or towel and leave for 15-30 minutes. Then knead the dough again with your hands. You will feel that the dough will become smoother, and it will also be significantly softer and more pliable. Divide the dough into several pieces and roll them into balls. The size of the balls will depend on the desired size of the finished cakes.
STEP 4

Roll each ball into a round layer. Using a saucer or plate, cut out circles with a knife.
STEP 5

One by one, place the dough circles into hot oil and fry until browned. Turn the tortilla over and fry the other side. Place the tortillas on a large platter lined with paper towels. Cover the finished cakes with an inverted bowl so that they do not dry out and soften from their own heat and moisture.
