STEP 1
How to make Lazy Wife dumpling casserole in the oven? First, make the filling for the casserole. Beat the eggs into a bowl, add sour cream and salt and ground black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk until smooth. For the recipe, I used homemade eggs, sour cream with a fat content of 20%, instead of sour cream you can use mayonnaise.
STEP 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
STEP 3
Peel the onion and cut it into cubes. Fry it in a frying pan with preheated vegetable oil for 10 minutes over medium heat. Stir the onions so they don't burn. The onion should turn out transparent and golden, but you can fry it hotter, like dumplings with potatoes.
STEP 4
Take medium-sized dumplings of good quality - they are the basis of the dish. You can also use homemade dumplings with pork or mixed minced meat to prepare the casserole. Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and heat it in the oven for 5 minutes. Place dumplings in one layer.
STEP 5
Salt and pepper the dumplings to taste, taking into account that the filling is already salty, then evenly place a layer of fried onions on them. To prepare the casserole, you can also use a frying pan with an iron or removable handle.
STEP 6
Pour the egg-sour cream mixture over the dumplings. It should cover the contents of the form completely.
STEP 7
Place the dough in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 40 minutes. 10 minutes before the end, remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle the dish with cheese. Return the casserole to the oven and continue baking until the cheese is melted and browned. Cool the finished dish a little, cut into portions and serve. Bon appetit!
