    How to bake dumplings in the oven with cheese? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take full-fat sour cream, from 20%. Dumplings can be taken in any size: large, medium or small. I have large ones. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Choose dumplings with thin dough. Peel the onion and cut into thin half rings. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, wash it and the knife with cold water.

    Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

    In a small bowl, mix sour cream with ground black pepper or a mixture of ground peppers (black, red and white).

    Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the pan and let it warm up a little. Place the onion in the oil and simmer over moderate heat for about 5 minutes. It should become transparent and not overly fried.

    Place the baking dish in the oven preheated to 160 degrees for about 10 minutes to warm it up. Grease the mold with vegetable oil. If you warm up the mold in advance, the dumplings will not stick to the bottom and sides. Place the frozen dumplings in a single layer in the pan. Sprinkle dumplings with salt to taste on top.

    Spread the fried onions evenly over the dumplings.

    Apply sour cream filling on top. Place the dumplings in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes at 160 degrees. The exact time depends on the features of your oven.

    Once the cheese has melted, the dish is ready to serve. If you immediately sprinkle the dumplings with cheese, you will get a stable, golden-brown cheese crust, but I prefer it when the cheese is slightly melted. Do it at your own discretion. Cut the finished dish into portions and serve.

I saw a method of preparing dumplings that was unusual for me and decided to cook it for lunch. The dumplings I had were small store-bought ones. I laid them out in one row in a preheated and greased pan and added salt. The recipe, of course, doesn’t say anything about adding water or broth, but it was so strange and incomprehensible to me how the dumplings would be prepared that I still added a few tablespoons of water to the bottom of the mold. I put lightly fried onions on top, then sour cream mixed with black pepper and a couple of spoons of mayonnaise. I baked everything according to the time specified in the recipe. Lastly, I put the cheese on top and baked for another 15 minutes. The baked dumplings in the oven with cheese were completely cooked during this time and were delicious! And the sour cream filling with cheese is just a delight! A very unusual dish, thanks to the author! I will cook more!

A very tasty and always helpful recipe. In my experience, I mix mayonnaise with sour cream and add a glass of broth. Then the dumplings are soaked in the broth and the dish turns out juicy!

And if you first fry a couple of onions and mix dumplings with these onions, then mayonnaise and cheese - it’s absolutely amazing!
