Italian ciabatta with yeast

STEP 1

Prepare your ingredients.
STEP 2

Sift the flour.
STEP 3

Add salt, sugar and dry herbs to the flour. Stir.
STEP 4

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
STEP 5

Add water to flour and knead the dough. It turns out quite liquid. Mix the butter into the dough.
STEP 6

Transfer the dough to a convenient bowl, cover with film and leave for 2 hours.
STEP 7

The dough will double in size. If it's cold here, let it sit longer.
STEP 8

Generously flour a baking sheet or parchment paper and turn out the dough. Sprinkle on top and smooth. Let it come up under a towel.
STEP 9

Divide the cake into portions using a spatula. Make a well in the center of each ciabatta to allow the dough to bake better.
STEP 10

Bake at 250 degrees for about half an hour (these are approximate figures - use YOUR oven as a guide!)
