Honey Dessert made from sliced pumpkin baked in the oven
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Let's prepare all the necessary ingredients to prepare honey pumpkin dessert in the oven. Wash the orange thoroughly and cut off the zest. The best varieties for this dessert are candied, vitamin, sweet pie and nutmeg. Pumpkin dessert with bright orange flesh has a more appetizing appearance than with pale flesh.
STEP 2
We clean the pumpkin from the peel and seeds. Then cut the pumpkin into boat-shaped slices. If possible, they should be the same so that they cook at the same time.
STEP 3
Pour the oil into a bowl and add half the honey. Squeeze the juice out of the orange. Add two tablespoons to the mixture. You will need liquid honey, so if it thickens, heat it in a water bath or in the microwave. It is better to use floral honey; it will perfectly enhance the taste of the pumpkin and will not spoil its color.
STEP 4
Mix everything thoroughly until there is a homogeneous emulsion. This can be done using a whisk or a simple fork.
STEP 5
Cut the orange zest into thin strips. To prevent it from imparting bitterness to our dessert, we only need to cut off the yellow part, without the white pulp. This is easily done by peeling vegetables. It removes exactly the yellow part that we need. Add the chopped zest to the mixture and stir.
STEP 6
Add the mixture to the prepared pumpkin and mix well. The pumpkin pieces should be completely covered with liquid. This will allow our dessert to cook evenly and have the same taste.
STEP 7
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Place the pumpkin pieces on the paper in one layer. Chop the nuts and sprinkle them on top of the pumpkin. Almonds and walnuts can be replaced with any to your taste and even sesame seeds or poppy seeds.
STEP 8
Place in the oven and bake the pumpkin pieces at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes. The pieces should be fully cooked and soft when pressed. If the pumpkin starts to burn, cover the top with foil.
STEP 9
Remove our pumpkin dessert from the oven and cool completely. Transfer to a plate, drizzle with remaining honey and serve.
