STEP 1
How to bake herring in the oven? It turns out very tasty! Prepare all the necessary products. It is better to use fish that has been defrosted once, because... We definitely won’t find fresh herring here! It is best to defrost any fish on the shelf of the refrigerator farthest from the freezer. This is the most gentle way to preserve the taste of fish. Add salt, onion and lemon juice to the products.
STEP 2
Gut the herring, rinse well under running cold water, and dry with paper towels. If there is caviar in the fish, leave it, put it in the belly, it is tasty and you can give it to a child without fear, because The herring itself is quite bony and you need to carefully select the bones.
STEP 3
Rub the fish with salt outside and inside, season with aromatic black pepper from a grinder, and pour in juice from a lemon wedge.
STEP 4
Peel and cut the onions into half rings. Place some of it into the bellies of the herring, add a little lemon pulp and half the caviar.
STEP 5
Line the bottom of a suitable-sized baking dish with a large piece of foil with free edges hanging down for wrapping the fish. Pour in a little oil and add the remaining onion. It will protect the sauce/ice from accidental burning and will give a tasty filling.

Place the stuffed herring like a soldier. Brush the surface of the fish with oil.
STEP 7
Wrap the foil tightly with a loose envelope and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
STEP 8
After 20 minutes, open the foil and put the fish back in the oven to brown.
