Hake in sour cream
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to stew hake in sour cream and onions in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. If the fish is not gutted, cut the belly and remove the entrails. Cut off the head, tail and fins. Clean the fish from scales and remove the black film from the belly. Rinse the hake thoroughly and dry. You can use sour cream of any fat content. Take odorless vegetable oil.
STEP 2
Cut the prepared fish into portions. Add salt, add spices or seasonings to taste and stir. Leave the fish for 20 minutes to soak in the aroma of the spices.
STEP 3
Wash the pre-peeled onions and cut into half rings.
STEP 4
Peel and wash the carrots. Cut the carrots into thin strips. Keep in mind that how you chop the carrots will determine its appearance in the finished dish. During the heat treatment, grated carrots will lose their shape and mix evenly with the rest of the ingredients. Therefore, it is better to cut the vegetable into strips or cubes.
STEP 5
In a frying pan with vegetable oil, fry the onions while stirring for 3-4 minutes.
STEP 6
Add carrots to onions. Fry vegetables over moderate heat until soft. Remove the pan from the heat.
STEP 7
Bread the hake pieces in flour. You can do this on a plate or in a bag. Pour flour into a bag, place fish pieces in the bag. Seal the bag and shake well. The fish pieces will be evenly coated with flour.
STEP 8
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place hake pieces into the pan. Fry the hake on one side until golden brown.
STEP 9
Turn the fish over and brown the other side the same way.
STEP 10
Add warm water to sour cream, mix well.
STEP 11
Pour the diluted sour cream into the pan with the vegetables and stir. To prevent the sour cream from curdling, the pan should not be hot. Bring the sauce to a boil, add salt.
STEP 12
Place pieces of fried hake in sour cream with vegetables. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the fish in sour cream over low heat for 5 minutes.
STEP 13
If necessary, turn the fish pieces over to the other side during cooking. Wash the bay leaf, add to the fish and cook for about 10 minutes.
STEP 14
Serve stewed hake in sour cream and onions with any side dish: potatoes, rice, vegetables. Bon appetit!
