Green pea puree
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make green pea puree? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use fresh or frozen peas. If the peas are frozen, there is no need to specially defrost them. You can use cream with a fat content of 10 to 20%
STEP 2

Wash the green peas and drain in a colander. Let the water drain.
STEP 3

Peel the garlic cloves. If the cloves are large, you can cut them in half.
STEP 4

Pour about 1.5 liters of water into a saucepan and place over high heat. Bring the water to a boil. Pour green peas into boiling water, add salt and garlic cloves.
STEP 5

Reduce the heat to medium, bring the water to a boil again and cook the peas until tender, about 5-7 minutes, skimming off the foam. Frozen peas may need to be cooked a little longer by 1-2 minutes.
STEP 6

Place the cooked peas and garlic in a colander, let all the water drain and dry. If desired, you can remove the garlic cloves from the peas.
STEP 7

Pour the boiled peas back into the pan and mash them into a puree using a masher or blender. The consistency of the puree can be adjusted to taste. It can be a homogeneous, well-beaten puree, or a mass with small pieces of peas. I prefer a less homogeneous and thick consistency, so I did not beat it for long.
STEP 8

Taste the puree and add salt if necessary. Add butter, pour in cream.
STEP 9

Mix everything thoroughly. Using cream you can also adjust the consistency of the puree. If the puree is too thick, add more cream.
STEP 10

The finished puree can be served as a side dish for meat, poultry or fish. This puree has a wonderful taste. Bon appetit!
