Gooseberry tincture with vodka
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make gooseberry tincture with vodka? Prepare the ingredients: red gooseberries, sugar and vodka. Berries are suitable both unripe and ripe. Naturally, the color of the resulting drink depends on the color of the gooseberry. I always prefer red varieties - they are more aromatic and beautiful. Choose good quality vodka, it has a milder taste.
STEP 2
Rinse the gooseberries well under running water and place in a colander to drain thoroughly. And it is not necessary to pick off the tails and stalks of the berries. If the berries were too dirty, they can be soaked in water for several hours to remove the dirt. Then rinse again under running water.
STEP 3
Place the berries in a glass container, fill with vodka, and cover with a lid. I use a glass jar of the appropriate size. Leave in a dark place for two months.
STEP 4
After time, strain the tincture through a strainer or cheesecloth. Discard the berries. Prepare sweet syrup. How to make syrup? Pour sugar into a suitable bowl, add water, and put on fire. Bring to a boil, stirring the mixture until the sugar dissolves. Cool the syrup and pour it into a container with the tincture, shake and leave for another week. The tincture is ready.
STEP 5
Pour it into bottles. You can store the tincture in the refrigerator or a cool, dry place.
