STEP 1

How to fry potatoes with cheese in a frying pan? This recipe is as simple as it is delicious. To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Potatoes for the dish need to be small in size and diameter, the tubers are even, possibly oblong.
STEP 2

Wash the potatoes thoroughly and scrub thoroughly with a brush. Without peeling, cut the potatoes into slices about 1-1.5 cm thick. I used young potatoes, but you can use any. If desired, you can peel the potatoes and cut them into strips or quarters.
STEP 3

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. You can use any cheese you like. Mozzarella, Gouda or regular Russian will do. The main thing is that it melts and tastes good. After all, the taste of the finished dish largely depends on the cheese. Hard cheese can generally be replaced with processed cheese.
STEP 4

Finely chop the garlic with a knife.
STEP 5

Heat the vegetable oil and butter in a thick-bottomed frying pan over low heat. Add the potatoes. Butter will give the dish a delicate flavor, but it will burn when heated. That’s why they add vegetable oil, the combustion temperature of which is higher than that of butter. Then the butter will not burn, and the dish will be fried and receive the desired creamy aroma.
STEP 6

Fry, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes or longer until golden brown. At the end, sprinkle the potatoes with chopped garlic, salt and pepper to taste and stir. Fry everything together for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 7

Sprinkle the potatoes with grated cheese. If desired, in addition to the cheese at this stage, you can add finely chopped bacon or ham to the potatoes.
STEP 8

Cover the pan with a lid and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese has melted.
STEP 9

Sprinkle the finished fried potatoes with cheese, if desired, with chopped bell pepper, green onions and herbs and serve immediately before the cheese has hardened and stretches elastically. Bon appetit!
