Fried kefir cheese cakes made from dough with baking powder

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Take a deep container, pour kefir into it, add vegetable oil. Combine these ingredients until smooth. Then add a little salt and sugar, thoroughly mix all the components of the container so that there is no oily layer on the surface.
STEP 2

Next, pour wheat flour sifted through a sieve into the same container.
STEP 3

Now add baking powder and start kneading the dough first with a spoon, then continue kneading the dough with your hands until it stops sticking to your hands, becomes soft, but at the same time elastic. Then cover the container with a towel or film and leave the dough to rest for a while.
STEP 4

Grate hard cheese on a fine grater. Take another clean container, put grated cheese in it, beat in a chicken egg and combine the ingredients. If desired, add a little ground black pepper and salt (if the cheese is not very salty).
STEP 5

Take the “rested” dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each piece of dough into a small ball. Place the dough balls on a board sprinkled with flour and cover with a towel and film to prevent the dough from drying out.
STEP 6

Take one ball of dough and roll it into a thin layer. Place a tablespoon of cheese filling in the center of the dough.
STEP 7

Next, pinch the edges of the dough on top so that the filling is inside the future cake. We do the same procedure with the remaining dough balls.
STEP 8

Lightly sprinkle the dough with flour. Using a rolling pin, roll them out, forming them into flat cakes.
STEP 9

When the flatbreads are ready, take a frying pan with a thick bottom, lightly grease it with vegetable oil and set the frying pan to heat over medium heat. Next, place the flatbreads in a frying pan and fry them on both sides until golden brown.
STEP 10

Grease the finished cakes with a small amount of butter. Serve immediately while they are warm. They are very good in combination with sour cream and sour cream-garlic sauce, as sour cream highlights the salty taste of the cheese and makes the flatbread even more delicate in taste.
