  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make caramel fried bananas at home? Prepare your food. Take either one large banana or two small ones. I used cane sugar, but you can get by with plain white sugar. Choose high-quality, natural and tasty butter, without vegetable fats.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel and cut the banana. In a completely random way. I cut it into rings, you can cut it coarsely, first lengthwise, then in half, you get 4 pieces.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Heat a frying pan over low heat and add oil to it. Melt it while stirring with a spatula.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sugar to the butter. Start stirring it vigorously.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The goal is to melt the sugar to create caramel. Make the heat medium. When all the sugar is wet from the butter, stop stirring. Leave the pan on the heat, shaking it occasionally. The caramel should thicken, bubble and take on a caramel color. In the case of brown sugar, don’t focus on color - it’s immediately dark. Look at the bubbles.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place chopped banana in caramel. Make the fire small again. Fry the banana for about 2 minutes, using a fork to pry up the pieces and check for doneness.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

When one side is golden, flip the pieces using two forks. Fry the banana on the other side for the same amount of time. Do not miss the moment of readiness; the banana can become very soft if it is left too long. Remove the finished banana from the pan and pour the remaining caramel over it. Serve hot as a separate dessert or as an addition to others. This banana goes very well with ice cream. Bon appetit!

I made fried bananas in caramel at home for a snack. I had never fried bananas in my life, so I was doubly interested in what the result would be. I cut the banana into four parts. I used regular white sugar. I fried bananas in caramel for about one minute on each side. I was pleased with the result, it turned out very tasty. I thought it would turn out cloying, but no, the sweetness is just right (at least for me). Caramel goes surprisingly harmoniously with banana. The fried bananas turned out tender, but at the same time retained their shape and did not spread. katushafin, thank you very much for the recipe!
