Fresh frozen mackerel fish soup
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook delicious soup from fresh frozen mackerel quickly and easily? Start by preparing the necessary ingredients according to the list. I made the soup from fresh frozen mackerel, but you can replace it with fresh one. You can replace fresh parsley root with a mixture of dried roots or with a celery root or stalk.
STEP 2
If the fish is already gutted, remove the fins and gills and rinse it well. Frozen fish usually requires additional cleaning. Without defrosting completely, remove the entrails, black films inside the abdomen, and remove the gills. Rinse everything thoroughly. Cut the fish into portions. To keep the broth transparent, it is advisable to pour water over the fish pieces and leave for 10 minutes so that all the blood comes out of the fish.
STEP 3
Wash and peel all vegetables. Cut the potatoes into medium cubes.
STEP 4
Cut the carrots into small cubes.
STEP 5
Cut the parsley root into small cubes.
STEP 6
Also cut the onion into small cubes. If you don’t like to taste the onion in the finished soup, you can leave the onion whole, put it in the broth with the potatoes and remove it at the end of cooking.
STEP 7
Finely chop the garlic or cut into slices.
STEP 8
Finely chop the parsley.
STEP 9
Heat the butter in a frying pan. Add onion, garlic, carrots and parsley root to the pan. Fry, stirring, 5-7 minutes.
STEP 10
Place potatoes, pieces of mackerel and fried vegetables from the pan into the pan. Add bay leaves, salt and pepper everything to taste. In addition to the specified spices, you can add spices for fish first courses.
STEP 11
Pour about 1.5 liters of water into the pan, or more if you like soups with a lot of broth. Place the pan over medium heat.
STEP 12
Bring the soup to a boil and simmer, skimming, for about 30 minutes until the fish and potatoes are cooked through.
STEP 13
Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a lid and let the soup simmer for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 14
Then pour the mackerel soup into bowls, sprinkle with chopped herbs and serve. Bon appetit!
