  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make yeast cake Flower? Measure out the required ingredients. Any jam, confiture, marmalade or thick jam is suitable for the filling. Warm the milk slightly.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a small bowl, combine the yeast, 1 tsp. sugar (from the total amount) and 50 ml of lukewarm milk. Mix everything well and leave for 10-12 minutes to activate the yeast. A foam cap will appear on the surface. This means the yeast is active. If the “cap” does not form or it happens very slowly and weakly, it is better to replace the yeast with another one.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Sift the flour into a wide bowl to enrich it with oxygen. This will improve the rise of the dough, and the baked goods will be fluffy and airy.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Melt the butter in the microwave or over low heat on the stove. The oil should cool down a little.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In a deep, large bowl, beat the egg with salt and sugar until smooth.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour in the remaining milk and stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

    Add yeast mixture, stir lightly.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour in the non-hot butter and vegetable oil, stir.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Add sifted flour. Do not pour out all the flour at once; less of it may be needed. It depends on the properties and quality of the flour. Stir the dough with a spoon.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add the rest of the flour gradually, while mixing the dough with your hands. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the consistency of the dough. It should not turn out steep, otherwise it will take a long time to rise and the baking will turn out heavy.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

The dough turns out soft, pliable, and almost does not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place to rise for 80-90 minutes.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Rising time will depend on yeast activity and temperature. The dough has increased in volume by 2.5 times and is ready for cutting.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Gently knead the dough and place it on a table sprinkled with flour. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Roll out the first part of the dough into a round layer with a diameter of approximately 22 cm. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Brush the top of the dough evenly with jam, not reaching the edges.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Roll out the second part of the dough in the same way and place it on the first layer so that it completely covers it.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Also coat the dough with a layer of jam.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Roll out the third part of the dough and place it on top. Mark the center of the pie using a glass or indentation (about 7 cm in diameter).

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

Using a knife, first cut the dough into 8 segments, without touching the marked center.

  20. STEP 20

    STEP 20

Then cut each segment in half again. There should be 16 segments.

  21. STEP 21

    STEP 21

Lift two adjacent parts of the dough, twist them in opposite directions 2 times and connect, carefully pinching the edges in the middle of the connection.

  22. STEP 22

    STEP 22

Do the same with all test segments. The end result is a flower shape (or even a snowflake-like shape). Cover the future pie with a light towel or cling film and leave to proof for 15-20 minutes.

  23. STEP 23

    STEP 23

Beat the egg with milk until smooth.

  24. STEP 24

    STEP 24

Brush the mixture onto the cake before baking.

  25. STEP 25

    STEP 25

Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180C for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Baking time and mode may be different. Focus on the operating features of your oven.

  26. STEP 26

    STEP 26

Cool the finished pie and serve. Bon appetit!

Julia, you are a test master! 🌹 A couple of days ago I made your fish pie, which turned out amazing. And after heating in the microwave, the dough seemed fresh! Today I made this pie, it’s just a delight))) just like in a bakery, only tastier. Thank you very much for the really delicious recipes!) The pie came out a little crooked, since my baking sheet is small, there is not enough space in the mini-oven 😅

I love this pie! Yeast dough flower pie is now one of my favorites! When cooking, I used milk powder (replaced the milk with the same amount of warm water, and added two tablespoons of dry milk to the flour), and instead of jam - currants, grated with sugar (this was in vain, it was runny, spread out and burned during baking, which is a bit spoiled the appearance of the pie, I advise you to use thick jam, the pattern in the finished pie will be clearer with it). The end result is not just a delicious and aromatic pie, it is so tender and airy, like a cloud! Special thanks to the author for the simple and beautiful molding!
