Felt cherry jam
Delicious jam. An ideal dessert with a pleasant sourness! “Felt” cherry is the sweetest variety of berry that grows in Siberia. Jam made from “felt” cherries is always sweet, without the sourness that we are so accustomed to.
The recipe for making jam from “felt” cherries is not much different from making jam from other varieties.

The cherries must be washed thoroughly

Remove the seeds from the berries
STEP 4
Place the prepared cherries in an enamel container in layers, alternating a layer of berries with a layer of sugar.
STEP 5
Waiting for the cherries to give juice
STEP 6
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. After boiling, remove the jam from the heat for half an hour
STEP 7
Then we boil it again, and then wait for half an hour.
STEP 8
After the third boil, pour the “felt” cherry jam into jars and roll up the lids.
STEP 9
The finished jam is quite thick and can be used not only as a dessert, but also as a sweet filling for buns or pies.

Our relatives brought us these felt cherries, lots and lots of them, I made a compote and kept thinking about what else to make from it. I decided to make jam, but I couldn’t choose a recipe, and then I came across this one: I liked the fact that the jam was already cooked without seeds, although it’s a lot of fuss to get them out. I cooked it, it’s very tasty, moderately sweet, there’s really no sourness. We eat it just like that with tea, I made a pie once, but today I decided to bake a little pies, let’s see how it turns out and how much it leaks The jam itself is excellent.

Unexpectedly delicious jam. To be honest, I never considered felt cherries as a berry for jam. The result exceeded expectations! The jam is tasty and aromatic, it is very pleasant to drink tea with it. When it cools it becomes thick, a little like jam. So, it is quite suitable for filling confectionery products.
