Deep-fried curd balls

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to deep fry sweet curd balls at home? Prepare your food. Take cottage cheese of any fat content, but not grained - soft cottage cheese from a briquette is best suited for the dough. The amount of flour is approximate, it may take more or less, you will look at the consistency of the dough. Read about flour in a separate article under the steps. The article at the end of the recipe will help you with choosing oil for frying.
STEP 2

Place cottage cheese in a bowl, add sugar and salt. Adjust the amount of sugar and salt to your taste. Grind the cottage cheese and sugar with a fork. If yours is grainy, then first beat the cottage cheese with a blender or rub through a sieve. I have soft and homogeneous cottage cheese, I skipped this step. You will learn all the subtleties of choosing cottage cheese by reading the article at the end of this recipe.
STEP 3

Beat the eggs into the mashed cottage cheese. Stir everything together again using a fork until smooth.
STEP 4

Sift the flour and mix with soda. Add the flour to the egg-curd mixture in portions, stirring the dough with a fork after each step. At first it will be liquid, then it will thicken. When this happens, start kneading the dough with your hands. Stop adding flour when the dough hardly sticks to your hands, but remains soft. I used less flour than stated in the recipe.
STEP 5

Roll the dough into balls the size of a walnut. Or a little less. To prevent the balls from sticking to your hands, sprinkle them with flour. I got 30 balls.
STEP 6

Use a container suitable for deep frying. It is better if it is narrow and high - then you will use less oil. But the bottom should be thick so that the oil heats evenly. Pour the frying oil into the selected saucepan and heat it over high heat. There is a simple way to check whether the oil has warmed up well enough. Dip a wooden stick into it. If bubbles have gathered around it, then you can begin the frying process.
STEP 7

Drop the sweet balls into the oil. Please note that they will grow a lot when frying, do not add too much. Fry the balls until golden brown, while turning the heat to medium. Turn them lightly with a fork so that the balls are fried on all sides.
STEP 8

Remove the finished cottage cheese balls from the pan using a slotted spoon. Cover the plate with a paper napkin - it will absorb excess fat. Fry all the preparations in this way.
STEP 9

Serve the sweet fried curd balls sprinkled with powdered sugar. They taste best when piping hot. Bon appetit!
