  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook crumbly pilaf with chicken in a slow cooker? Prepare the food. Choose long-grain rice, then the pilaf will definitely be crumbly. Round rice sticks together and turns out like porridge. Read about all the intricacies of choosing rice for pilaf in a separate article about rice at the link at the end of the recipe. Chicken can be replaced with turkey, beef or pork. I used boneless chicken thighs.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion and rinse with water. Cut into cubes. Turn on the “Fry” mode on the multicooker, pour in a little vegetable oil, add the onion and fry until golden brown. Choose an oil with a high smoke point. Read more about this in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. If you don't have the "Fry" mode, select "Steam". I cook exactly in this mode.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the carrots, rinse and cut into cubes. Add chopped carrots to onions. Fry everything for a couple of minutes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the chicken, dry it, cut into small pieces, add to the vegetables and fry for a couple more minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Rinse the rice several times until the water is clean. Pour the rice into the slow cooker, add salt to taste, turmeric and your favorite spices. Wash the garlic and stick it into the rice.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour in water in a 2:1 ratio (2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice). Close the multicooker lid and set it to “Pilaf” or “Rice” mode for 40 minutes. The time is indicated approximately, as it will depend on the power and operating characteristics of your multicooker. When the multicooker signals that the mode has ended, open the lid, remove the garlic and stir the pilaf. Bon appetit!

Yesterday I made a delicious crumbly pilaf with chicken in a slow cooker for dinner. For pilaf I had chicken thighs. I cut the meat from them, removed the bones, and cut the pulp into small pieces. I took more carrots - 3 of them, and cut them into cubes. I cut a large onion into cubes and placed it in a multicooker bowl in heated vegetable oil. I cooked it in the “Frying” mode. When the onion became transparent, I put carrots in the bowl, after 2 minutes - chicken, after another 2 minutes - washed rice, salt and garlic (I did not add turmeric). I filled everything with hot water so that its level was 1 cm higher than the rice. I cooked it in the “Pilaf” mode for 40 minutes. It turned out great! The rice was well cooked, grain after grain came out, my husband immediately noted its softness and pleasant taste. Carrots and onions added a delicate, sweetish taste and aroma to the pilaf. Thanks a lot!

In a slow cooker, the pilaf turns out amazing, juicy, grain of rice... I also like to cook pilaf with chicken in the oven. Those who don’t have a multicooker can try this recipe.

For lunch we had crumbly pilaf with chicken in a slow cooker. I generally like to cook rice and pilaf using this technique, the main thing is to correctly calculate the amount of water. For this dish I used broiler thigh fillet, it is fatty enough for chicken and not dry. I immediately set the multicooker to “frying” for 20 minutes. I fried the onions and carrots for 5 minutes, and then laid out the chicken pieces. I cut the carrots into large pieces so that they remain whole in the finished dish. I took regular long grain rice. I rinsed it well to remove starch and poured it on top of the meat. From the spices I added aromatic seasoning for chicken. Rice loves salt, so I salted it from the heart). The recipe specifies a 1:2 ratio of rice to water, which in my opinion is correct. When I cook pilaf in a cauldron I do this. But, knowing my multicooker, I added another 150 ml. The amount of water also depends on the type of rice; the more refined the grains are, the more water is needed. The time on my assistant in the “pilaf” mode is not set. After the signal, I opened the lid and pushed aside the rice to make sure the dish was ready. The water is completely absorbed, but the rice is not dry and juicy. I left it to brew under the lid for about 15 minutes and called the family over for dinner. The pilaf is really very tasty! It is slightly sweet thanks to the carrots, with a pleasant aroma of spices and garlic.
