  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make cold gooseberry jam? Prepare everything you need. Carefully sort the gooseberries, removing leaves, twigs and spoiled berries. Wash under running water and place in a colander to drain all excess liquid. Pour boiling water over the oranges and wash them well using baking soda or food grade detergent. Cut into slices and remove all the seeds. Read about winter preparations in the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pass the gooseberries and oranges through a meat grinder or chop with a blender. Mix well. If desired, you can replace the orange with lemon or use them together. This will diversify the already wonderful taste of the jam.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add sugar, stir and leave overnight. Stir again in the morning. The sugar needs to be completely dissolved. Place the finished cold jam into sterile jars (see steps for sterilization method), close with lids (nylon ones are possible) and store in the refrigerator. You can put it in a container and freeze it. This option doesn't require sugar. Be sure to sign the frozen preparations so that later you know exactly what it was frozen and when.
