Very aromatic, tasty, filling! Impossible to tear yourself away! Classic Georgian chicken chakhokhbili in a frying pan is one of the five popular Georgian dishes. Spicy chicken meat stewed in tomato sauce and seasoned with khmeli-suneli will be a great alternative to fried chicken!

I used to buy chicken cut into pieces called chakhokhbili, but I had never cooked this dish itself. Therefore, I became interested in the recipe for classic Georgian chicken chakhokhbili in a frying pan. When I started cooking, I cut two small legs into pieces. Fry the meat in a dry frying pan for one minute on each side. Then I put chopped tomatoes, fried onions in butter, salt, khmeli-suneli, black pepper on the chicken, and mixed. I did not add bell pepper. Simmered covered for 45 minutes. At the end I added chopped parsley and garlic. I kept it on the fire for another 5 minutes and removed it from the stove. It turned out tasty and satisfying. The chicken became soft and tender, the tomatoes gave it a pleasant sourness, and the spices and herbs gave it an indescribable aroma. There was quite a lot of sauce left in which the chicken was stewed (I took two tomatoes and one onion for it). After boiling the rice, I put it in a frying pan with the chicken, and it turned out to be a wonderful, juicy second dish. Thank you very much!

A very interesting and simple dish! I will definitely cook it.) It is written that there should be a lot of vegetables, but the recipe calls for only three tomatoes. It seems like a lot to me - it’s almost a kilogram.)) Is this a typo or just a taste?)

Hello! Thank you. I liked the recipe. I simmered it with the lid closed, it turned out to be a lot of liquid, but I didn’t evaporate it; I used it as a sauce for a side dish.
