STEP 1

How to stew chicken with tomatoes in a frying pan? You can use any part of the chicken to prepare this dish. I decided to cook from chicken thighs. Rinse the chicken in running water and dry with a paper towel. Heat the frying pan until hot and pour in a little vegetable oil. Place the chicken thighs in a hot frying pan and fry them over high heat on both sides so that the pieces are coated with an appetizing golden crust.
STEP 2

While the chicken is roasting, peel the onions and rinse in cold water. Then cut the peeled onions into half rings or slightly smaller. There is no need to chop it too much, as the onion will disperse during stewing.
STEP 3

Add the chopped onion to the chicken in the pan and fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes. The onions will begin to turn translucent in color.
STEP 4

Wash the tomatoes, cut each into two parts and remove the stem. Cut the tomatoes into large pieces. If you wish, you can first peel the tomatoes. To do this, boil them with boiling water to make the skin easier to remove.
STEP 5

Add chopped tomatoes to the pan with the chicken. Pour hot water. Sprinkle everything with a little salt and dry spices to taste. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer over medium heat for about 20-30 minutes. The exact time depends on your stove. Monitor the readiness of the chicken - the meat should begin to pull away from the bones. Serve the finished dish hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs. Bon appetit!
