Grate raw carrots on a fine grater.

Add sugar and citric acid.

Place the resulting mixture in a frying pan and heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the excess juice evaporates.

Add coconut flakes (200 g).

Mix and form into walnut-sized balls.
STEP 6
Roll in the remaining coconut. Tip! You can also roll carrot candies in multi-colored coconut shavings, and then they will look especially festive on the dish. An alternative to coconut flakes is waffle crumbs.

I liked the recipe and will try to make it. Just tell me, please, is there anything I can replace coconut flakes with? For rolling - grated waffles, and inside? Not everyone in my family likes coconut flakes.

I made these with walnuts and rolled them in cinnamon sugar. It turned out quite unusual! Carrots can only be identified by their fibers (according to tasters)
