Capelin stewed with onions in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to stew capelin with onions in a frying pan? Prepare everything you need for this. If the fish is frozen, take it out of the freezer in advance so that it defrosts at room temperature. Wash the capelin and dry it. There is no need to clean it. The fish is quite small, it is not convenient to clean it. And after cleaning, it will simply fall apart during cooking. Sour cream and milk can be used at any fat content. The higher the fat content of the sour cream, the thicker the sauce will be.
STEP 2
Peel the onion, rinse and finely chop.
STEP 3
Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and fry the chopped onion for 1-2 minutes until transparent.
STEP 4
Then place the capelin in a frying pan and fry it along with the onion over low heat for 5-7 minutes. The fish cooks very quickly.
STEP 5
In a separate glass, mix milk and sour cream. Add salt and fish spices. Stir until no lumps of sour cream remain. I use a ready-made fish spice kit.
STEP 6
Pour sour cream sauce over the fish, bring everything to a boil and simmer the fish under the lid over low heat for another 2-3 minutes. To prevent the fish from falling apart during cooking, there is no need to stir frequently.
STEP 7
During this time, the fish will have time to soak in the creamy taste. Remove the pan from the heat and serve hot. Delicious!
STEP 8
The ideal side dish would be mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!
