  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry cabbage in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Choose the size of onions and carrots to suit your taste. I use medium size. Remove the top leaves from the cabbage that are damaged and unsuitable for consumption. This is usually 2-3 sheets.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onions and carrots and rinse them in running water to remove any dirt. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

For frying, it is convenient to use a deep frying pan with a flat bottom and high sides. Heat it until hot and pour in a little vegetable oil. Add chopped onions and carrots. Fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the onions and carrots are frying, prepare the cabbage. Chop it thinly using a sharp knife. You can mash the cabbage a little with your hands. It will become softer and cook faster.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Then add the shredded cabbage to the pan and stir everything together. Fry everything together over medium heat, without a lid, for 5-7 minutes. During this time, the cabbage will stop crunching and decrease in volume.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add salt and various dry spices to taste. I use a little paprika, ground black pepper and a couple pinches of dried basil. Mix everything with cabbage. Keep on fire for another 7-10 minutes. Be sure to stir the cabbage periodically so that it does not start to burn. Check the cabbage for doneness using the thickest pieces. They should become soft. If desired, you can add a little tomato paste.

Fried cabbage in a frying pan is ready! Bon appetit!

My husband usually asks for a side dish for dinner that is lower in carbs. That’s why I find such recipes) I like cabbage fried in a frying pan, especially if it’s actually fried and not stewed. Stewed is more suitable for pies. I like it when the pieces of cabbage are covered with an appetizing blush and the cabbage itself remains slightly crispy. The addition of onions and carrots enriched the taste of the cabbage with its juices and sweetness. As the author advises, I added a spoonful of tomato paste for color. I use dried basil as a spice; in hot dishes it reveals its fragrant aroma. I also added paprika and freshly ground black pepper. The cabbage turned out juicy, but not too soft. This is a great side dish! It is prepared quickly, simply and not expensive. And what a pleasant taste!

I wanted something light for dinner and cooked cabbage fried in a frying pan. And also very quickly, which is important after work. I shredded the cabbage, grated the carrots on a coarse grater, and cut the onion into small cubes. First I fried onions and carrots in a frying pan, then added cabbage, salt and pepper and fried everything together until cooked. I really liked this cabbage: juicy, appetizing, and most importantly, very tasty! Thanks to Yulia M for the delicious recipe!
