STEP 1

How to make baked mackerel in sour cream in the oven? To prepare, take the ingredients from the list.

Thaw the mackerel, preferably not completely - the fish is very soft and fatty, so in order for it to maintain its integrity, it is better to cut the carcass while slightly frozen. Gut the fish. cut off the head, tail and fins. Make a longitudinal cut along the ridge - this will be a kind of “pocket”.

Salt the fish and pepper on all sides.

Place the prepared fish on a sheet of foil and sprinkle with lemon juice. Cut half of a large onion into thin half rings.

Place the prepared onion and a tablespoon of thick sour cream into the belly and pocket on the back.
STEP 6

Cover all fish with sour cream on all sides too.
STEP 7

Wrap the mackerel in a loose envelope, put it in a mold and place it in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40 minutes (you can first for 10 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees, and then reduce it to 160).

then remove the mackerel from the oven, carefully unwrap the envelope, if you want to brown it, put it under the grill or convection for another 10 minutes.
