STEP 1

How to make American chocolate cookies? Prepare your ingredients. Remove all products from the refrigerator in advance; butter and chicken eggs should be at room temperature. If desired, you can use milk chocolate; the cookies will then turn out sweeter; in this case, reduce the amount of sugar. If you don't have brown sugar, you can only use regular white sugar.
STEP 2

Place softened butter in a bowl. If you did not have time to remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance, you can soften it a little in a water bath, but do not melt it completely. Add white and brown sugar, salt and a pinch of vanillin to the butter. Beat everything with a mixer into a homogeneous fluffy mass; it should increase slightly in volume.

Beat one egg into a bowl and add one tablespoon of flour, beat again with a mixer.

Then add the second egg and beat with a mixer.

Then add flour and baking powder in parts. Knead the dough with a spoon. It should be thick in consistency, but not tight, soft and sticky.
STEP 6

Chop the chocolate with a knife or grind it with a blender; the pieces should be large. Add chocolate to the dough and stir it.
STEP 7

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. At this time, place the bowl with the dough in the refrigerator to cool.
STEP 8

Line a baking sheet or wire rack with parchment paper. It is better to bake cookies on a wire rack so that there is airflow from below. Place the dough onto the paper with a tablespoon, about one full spoon per cookie. Leave some space between the cookies because they will expand significantly during baking. Bake for about 15 minutes (depend on how your oven operates). The cookies should brown slightly.
STEP 9

Carefully remove the cookies from the wire rack and place on a plate, each cookie individually, as they are soft when warm. When the cookies have cooled, they will harden, then they can be transferred. Serve the cookies with tea, coffee or milk. Enjoy your tea!
