Waffles with eggs and butter in a Soviet waffle iron

Very light and airy waffles with a delicate vanilla flavor! Just right for Sunday or Saturday breakfast. I stole the recipe from a magazine, I don’t remember which one exactly.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Beat eggs with sugar

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

    to a stable foam.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then add vanilla sugar and powdered sugar.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Mix.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Now melt butter or table margarine on the stove (in this case the waffles will turn out even crispier).

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Let it cool a little and pour it into the egg mixture.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

    Beat with a mixer.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

    Now add wheat flour

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

    Mix.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Heat the waffle iron and grease it with vegetable oil.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

For each waffle we will need to take two to three tablespoons of dough. Although this, of course, depends on the size of the waffle iron. I used to have a small one, so even two spoons was too much for her - everything flowed out on the sides.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

When the waffle is ready, quickly remove it with a wide knife and just as quickly roll it into a tube. Once the waffle has cooled, it will no longer be possible to roll it up.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Afterwards, place the crispy waffles in a wide dish and sprinkle with powdered sugar on top.

Nataliaind, thanks for the great waffle recipe! I made them with butter and really felt the difference: with margarine the waffles are crispier. But overall, I really liked the waffles!

But apparently something went wrong with me. When frying, the oil evaporated from the dough and directly splashed out of the waffle iron. After each waffle, I had to drain the remaining oil from it. The waffles turned out disgustingly greasy and not crispy at all.
