  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make vanilla raisin crackers? Prepare your food. You may need more or less flour than the specified amount, depending on the consistency of the dough. Take the best quality butter, natural, without vegetable fats. Milk of any fat content is suitable, seedless raisins. You can replace fresh yeast with dry yeast.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First of all, prepare the dough. How to make a dough? To do this, dilute the yeast in warm milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar from the total amount. Stir well. Milk should be pleasant to the touch, no higher than 40 degrees. Why is it important? In a warm environment, yeast activates well, in a hot environment it will die, and in a cold environment it simply does not work.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add 150 g flour. Stir until smooth. The dough is ready. Place it in a warm place to rise for 30-40 minutes. During this time the dough should increase 2-3 times.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Melt the butter in any way convenient for you. Cool it and mix with sugar and egg.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add the cream mixture and vanilla tincture (or vanilla sugar) to the suitable dough. Stir.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add flour little by little and knead the dough. It is better to sift the flour first - this will not only remove possible debris from it, but also saturate it with oxygen, which will make the baked goods more airy.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Knead into a soft elastic dough. Place the finished dough in a warm place to rise for 40-60 minutes. The dough should increase 2-3 times during this time.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Prepare the raisins. How to steam raisins correctly? Pour hot water over the well-washed raisins and leave for 10-15 minutes. During this time it will become soft. Drain and pat dry with paper towels. Add the prepared raisins to the risen dough and stir them into the dough.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

After resting, divide the dough into 3 equal parts and form them into bars. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let rest for 30 minutes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Brush the risen loaves with beaten egg. Bake them in an oven preheated to 190°C for about 25 minutes until browned.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Let the finished bars cool completely. Already in this form, the baked goods are very tasty. To prepare the crackers, let the bars stand for 12 hours, but if you don’t have that much time, then at least 3-4 hours, otherwise they will crumble very much when cutting.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Cut the loaves into slices about 1 cm thick.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Place them on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Dry the crackers at 180°C until golden brown; if necessary, turn the slices over and dry them on the other side. They dry very quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on them.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

    Bon appetit!

Drying crackers, it turns out, has its own subtleties.

Irisha, how did you guess with the crackers, this is my favorite delicacy, and not even store-bought ones))) How good they are! Golden, with multi-colored raisins, crispy and crumbly! I presented them very well! Precisely made from flour, and not cut and dried in the oven from a loaf! Thank you (I have a lot of time!)!!!

Shura, I’m very, very glad that the recipe brought back pleasant memories! I also really love these crackers, and I also noticed that compared to store-bought ones, homemade ones turn out more tender

I made it according to your recipe and will try it this evening. Well, if you were deceived! Although it immediately seems that there is too much yeast.
