  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make turkey with bulgur and tomato sauce? Prepare all the necessary products. I have crushed bulgur and turkey thigh. If you have frozen meat, first remove it from the freezer and leave it at room temperature until completely thawed.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Separate the meat from the bone and remove the skin. Cut the turkey into small, equal-sized pieces.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Heat vegetable or olive oil in a frying pan. Send the turkey to roast. Over high heat, stirring constantly, lightly fry the pieces of meat.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Next, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and simmer the turkey for about 20 minutes. If necessary, add a little water (literally half a glass). I didn’t need this and the meat was stewed in its own juice.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the carrots and onions, rinse, dry and chop not very finely.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

In a separate frying pan, heat unflavoured vegetable oil and fry the onions and carrots until golden brown.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Peel the garlic and cut into medium-sized pieces by hand. Place the garlic in the frying pan with the meat.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Next add your favorite spices. I used a ready-made poultry seasoning mixture, 0.5 tsp. dried onions and 0.5 tsp. cumin. Stir, cover with a lid and simmer everything together for about 10 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Add fried onions and carrots to turkey.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add bulgur, previously washed in cold water.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Next, pour in tomato sauce or tomato juice. Add salt to taste, mix everything and pour in hot water so that it covers the cereal by about 1.5-2 fingers.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Cover the pan with a lid and leave until the bulgur is ready (this will take from 15 to 25 minutes depending on the size of the grains). If at the end of cooking there is still a small amount of water left in the pan, then open the lid, increase the flame of the stove and, stirring, leave until the excess liquid has evaporated.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

    Serve hot.
