  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make tomato sauce for pizza? Prepare your food. Choose tomato paste without additives; it should contain only tomatoes. Instead of olive oil, regular, odorless vegetable oil will do. But it will taste better with olive oil. In addition to basil, you can add other spices; I like to add oregano or a mixture of Italian herbs.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the onion and chop it very finely.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

To prepare the sauce, it is better to use a thick-bottomed pan or a non-stick frying pan. I took a frying pan. Heat olive oil in a frying pan, put garlic in it. Simmer the garlic over moderate heat for 1 minute to give the oil a light piquant aroma. At the same time, turn the garlic slices a couple of times so that they do not burn. Then remove the garlic from the pan.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place chopped onion in a frying pan and fry it over low heat until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add tomato paste to the onion and stir. Warm the tomato paste over low heat for 1 minute.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

    Pour in water and stir.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Add salt, sugar, dried basil or other spices to the sauce and stir. I advise you to taste the sauce to add the missing ingredients. Let the sauce simmer.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Simmer the sauce over low heat until thickened, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 15 minutes. You don’t need to keep the sauce on the heat for too long, otherwise it will be too thick. In addition, after cooling, the sauce will thicken even more.

    STEP 10

Tomato sauce is ready. You can start making your pizza. Happy baking!

My daughter wanted to make her own pizza, and I decided to make tomato sauce for pizza. I needed a small portion, so I reduced the amount of food using the site’s calculator. I fried the garlic in olive oil, and the aroma was incredible! I tried to chop the onion as finely as possible and fried it until golden brown. The main thing here is not to overcook, otherwise the sauce will be bitter. Added tomato paste, water and dried basil. I added salt and sugar in two additions, tasting the sauce. I liked that this sauce comes together very quickly. And it tastes much tastier on pizza than ketchup or just tomato. Very tasty, rich, thick, aromatic and suitable for almost all types of pizza! Now I will be happy to use this recipe. Thank you!
