Tank cake made from fondant
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make a tank cake from mastic? Prepare the ingredients for the crusts. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance. In a bowl, grind the softened butter with sugar. Mix milk with cocoa powder in a separate container, beat in eggs. Mix everything and pour into the oil mixture. Add sifted flour and baking powder. Knead a thin, homogeneous dough. Pour the dough into a heat-resistant form with a diameter of 23 cm. Bake in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 50 minutes.
STEP 2
Remove the finished biscuit from the oven, cool and leave for at least 6 hours. Thanks to this, the biscuit will not crumble when cutting. Then cut the sponge cake lengthwise into 3 layers. Trim the sides. Make a tower and elevation from the sides.
STEP 3
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the cream. Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance. In a convenient container, beat soft butter with a mixer. Add condensed milk little by little without stopping whisking. The cream should turn out fluffy and airy.
STEP 4
Coat the cakes with cream and form them into a tank. Cover the entire structure with buttercream and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
STEP 5
To make a camouflage “mesh”, color the mastic with gel food coloring. To do this, the mastic must be divided into 6 parts and painted 2 parts in a shade of green, 2 brown, and one each in black and dark gray. Sprinkle the work surface with powdered sugar, roll out a green cake (3-4 mm thick), place small pieces of other colors on top and roll out again.
STEP 6
Cover the tank with a layer of mastic. Level it well and smooth it out. Once you have smoothed the top and moved on to the sides, do not go back to smoothing the top again as the mastic will stretch. Trim off the excess.
STEP 7
Make tracks, implements and wheels from black mastic. The weapon should be placed on a wooden skewer. You can also add a few small details and scraps of mastic to complete the picture.
STEP 8
Attach all the parts. The cake in the shape of a mastic tank is ready. Enjoy your tea!
