  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make sweet buns Hearts with sugar? Measure out the required ingredients for the dough. Take the highest grade wheat flour. This is the best option for rich yeast dough. Warm the milk slightly.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sift the flour into a wide bowl with high sides to saturate it with oxygen. This will help the dough rise better and the baked goods will turn out fluffy.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Melt the butter on the stove over low heat or in the microwave. Cool the oil a little; it should not be hot.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Activate the yeast in a small bowl. To do this, combine the yeast, 1 tsp. sugar and about half of lukewarm milk. Mix everything and leave for 10 minutes at room temperature. A foam “cap” will appear on the surface.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

To prepare the dough, take a large container, taking into account that the dough will rise. Lightly beat the egg with sugar, salt and vanilla sugar.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour in the remaining milk and activated yeast, stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

    Add melted, non-hot butter, stir.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour about 3/4 of the sifted flour into the resulting liquid mixture. Do not pour out all the flour at once. You may need less than the specified amount. It depends on the properties and quality of the flour.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Mix everything first with a spoon.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add the remaining flour in small portions, while mixing the dough with your hands. It is very important not to add too much flour so that the dough becomes tough. Such dough will take a long time to rise and it will be difficult to rise, and the baked goods will not turn out light and fluffy enough. Watch the consistency of the dough.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

The dough should be soft, pliable, and not sticky to your hands. Cover the dough with a towel or cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for 60-80 minutes.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Remove the butter for the filling in advance so that it becomes soft and can be easily spread on the dough.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

The dough should increase in volume by 2-2.5 times.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Gently knead the risen dough and place it on a table lightly greased with vegetable oil or dusted with flour. Divide the dough into equal parts, the number of which will depend on the desired size of the buns. Roll each piece of dough into a ball and cover with a towel to prevent it from drying out.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Roll out the bun into a rectangular cake.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Brush the flatbread with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle sugar evenly on top.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Roll the flatbread into a roll.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Bend the roll in half so that the seam is inside the fold. Press the ends of the roll.

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

Cut the workpiece on the side opposite the joint, without cutting all the way through.

  20. STEP 20

    STEP 20

Unfold the bun, cut side up, carefully straighten the layers. Similarly, form “hearts” from the rest of the dough.

  21. STEP 21

    STEP 21

To grease the buns, lightly beat the yolk with milk.

  22. STEP 22

    STEP 22

Place the “hearts” on a baking sheet lined with parchment, leaving space between them, taking into account that the buns will rise and increase in size during baking. Leave the buns to rise for 10-15 minutes. Then brush the “hearts” with yolk using a pastry brush.

  23. STEP 23

    STEP 23

Bake the pastry in an oven preheated to 180C for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. The baking mode and duration may vary, as they depend on the operating characteristics of a particular oven.

  24. STEP 24

    STEP 24

Cool the finished buns and serve. Bon appetit!

What rich and sweet heart buns with sugar I got from this recipe!! The dough is pleasant, slightly oily and therefore manageable. The molding is simple to perform and yet very beautiful. I ended up with 8 pieces for medium-sized buns, approximately 70-75 g each (my daughter decided to shape two of them in her own way). I regret that I did not take at least one and a half portions of the necessary ingredients for the dough, since the buns were not enough for my gluttonous family. The hearts turned out so tasty that everyone wanted multiple refills. By the way, in terms of the texture of the finished dough, they are very similar to those baked by our city bakery, only homemade ones taste 10 times better. Thanks for the recipe, I will make these again and again! In general, I really love Yulia’s baking recipes, I adopt design ideas with great interest and look at beautiful photos. I’ll make a dozen more pies and cakes according to your recipes and you can change your profession))) Thank you very much!
