  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make strawberries in your own juice for the winter? Prepare all the ingredients listed. Select ripe berries, without blemishes or damage. To ensure that strawberries retain their shape, take small, dense berries. Please note that one kilogram of strawberries is enough for two 0.5 liter jars.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sort the berries, remove the stalks. Since strawberries are prepared without long-term heat treatment, all wrinkled or spoiled specimens should be removed. It is very important.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rinse the strawberries thoroughly several times in cold water. Next, dry the berries. I place it on a kitchen towel or paper napkins and leave it that way for a while.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the strawberries in a deep cup. Sprinkle with granulated sugar at the rate of 300 grams of sugar per 1 kilogram of berries.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Leave the strawberries for 8-10 hours. I usually make the preparation in the evening and leave the berries overnight at room temperature, covered with a light towel or gauze. If you are cooking during the day and the room is too hot, then put the strawberries in the shade, otherwise they will ferment. After the allotted time, a lot of juice appears and the berry literally floats in it.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Wash the jars and lids thoroughly, preferably with soda, and rinse several times. Sterilize in any way convenient for you. Fill the jars with strawberries and juice. You can apply it in a heap; the berries will settle a little during sterilization. Sprinkle a pinch of citric acid on top of each jar. The acid will serve as an excellent preservative, which will allow the product to be preserved longer.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cover the jars with sterile lids. Place in a saucepan, pour warm water up to the shoulders and place on high heat. Place a towel on the bottom of the pan. After boiling, reduce the heat and sterilize for 10 minutes. If you have a liter jar, then leave it to simmer for 15 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Seal the jars with lids and turn the top upside down. Cover the top with a towel and leave it like this until it cools completely.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Strawberries in their own juice are ready! Store jars in the refrigerator or in a cool cellar.
