Stewed rabbit
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make rabbit stew at home? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take bottled or filtered water. Clean the rabbit carcass from all excess, wash, and dry with paper towels. Chop the rabbit into pieces.
STEP 2
Transfer the meat to a deep bowl. Pour water over the meat and leave to soak for 4-6 hours. Then drain the water. During this time, the meat will become lighter.
STEP 3
Using a sharp knife, separate the meat from the bones.
STEP 4
Transfer the rabbit meat to the multicooker bowl. Turn on the “fry” mode for about 15-30 minutes and fry the meat until golden brown. Determine the exact time based on your multicooker. Then pour hot water into the multicooker bowl. Why add water? This is necessary so that the meat does not burn during stewing. Rabbit meat is low in fat and juice, so you need to add a little water.
STEP 5
Add peppercorns and bay leaves to the rabbit. You can add any other meat spices to your taste. Add salt to taste and mix everything. Close the lid and turn on the “stew” mode for 3-5 hours (depend on your multicooker). During this time, the meat will be completely cooked and will become very soft. It will even begin to disintegrate into fibers - it will turn into stew.
STEP 6
Towards the end of cooking, taste the rabbit stew. Check if there is enough salt in it. If necessary, you can add a little more salt or spices.
STEP 7
Prepare a dish for covering the stew. Wash and rinse the jars well. Sterilize them in any way convenient for you. This can be done in the oven, in the microwave or over hot steam. Boil the lids. Make sure jars and lids are dry before filling.
STEP 8
Fill the jars to the very top with hot stew. Pour stew broth up to the shoulders. Roll up the jars with the prepared lids. Cool the finished jars and store in a cool place for several months. Bon appetit!
