  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make a Spiderman cake? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Make the sponge cake and cream in advance. Butter, caramel, condensed milk or chocolate ganache is suitable. I used liquid dye, but you can use dry dye. Cut off the top part of the sponge cake. To do this, it is better to use a long knife that will freely reach from the edge to the edge of the cake, this way you will get an even cut. On the bottom side, outline the oval of the face using a toothpick

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the biscuit with a sharp knife along the marked contour.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Invert and place sponge base on cake stand. Cut the top edge of the biscuit in a circle.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add blue dye to the chosen cream and stir. Frost the cake. It is not recommended to use sour cream, as the mastic will float from moisture and will not be able to retain its shape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Make a rise out of the cream towards the middle of the cake. Level well so that the surface is smooth. To soak the cake with cream, you can place it in the refrigerator for several hours, or better yet, overnight. To make the dessert look neat, be sure to check the evenness again before applying mastic, since mastic will not be able to hide any roughness.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the fondant on a work surface sprinkled with powdered sugar (a silicone mat works well). Knead it until the mastic stops sticking to your hands. From the warmth of your hands it will become elastic and obedient. Roll thin white mastic into a thin pancake (approximate thickness 3-4 mm). Read about how to make mastic yourself at the end of the recipe.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll the rolled out layer onto a rolling pin, transfer it to the cake and smooth it out. Trim off any excess edges. If bubbles appear on the surface, simply lift the edge of the mastic layer and carefully lay it down again.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Level and smooth the mastic well. Once you have smoothed the top and moved on to the sides, do not go back to smoothing the top again as the mastic will stretch.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Use a toothpick to make indentations in the place of the future web and eyes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Take a clean regular gouache brush of suitable thickness. Use red food coloring to color your entire face except your eyes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Outline your eyes with black dye. Be sure to let the paint dry.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Using a toothpick, apply black dye to the cobwebs in the indentations.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Roll out a roller (1.5-2 mm thick) from blue mastic and make a border at the base of the cake. Emboss the pattern onto the roller.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Let the paint dry. Serve to the table and delight your household, especially children! Bon appetit!
