Simple mead
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make simple mead at home? Prepare your food. Take natural, aromatic honey, floral honey is best. The thickness of the honey is not so important - it will still dissolve in water.
STEP 2
Measure out the required amount of hops and yeast. I use hop pellets and special brewer's yeast. You can find all this in a specialized brewing store.
STEP 3
Measure out the required amount of water. Pour it into a saucepan, put it on the fire and bring to a boil.
STEP 4
Then add honey and stir until it is completely dissolved. Let the mixture boil for about 5 minutes. While boiling, skim off any foam that forms.
STEP 5
Then pour the honey water into a glass jar and cool until warm. Stir in yeast and hops.
STEP 6
Cover the jar with gauze and put it in a warm place for several days to ferment. Fermentation will take 5-7 days.
STEP 7
After the fermentation process has stopped, strain the drink through several layers of gauze. The more layers, the less sediment there will be. Pour into bottles, close the lids and place in a cool place to infuse and store. After a week, you can try the drink. Enjoy your treat!
