Shortcrust pastry with margarine for pie
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
To prepare the dough, remove the margarine from the refrigerator and cut it into pieces. Let it sit in a warm place until it becomes soft.
STEP 2
Add a pinch of salt and powdered sugar to the soft margarine. It is best to use powder rather than sugar, as it will dissolve faster in the dough and grains of sugar will not be felt.
STEP 3
Then add cold water and sifted flour. Use your hands to knead the dough.
STEP 4
At first it will seem like a lot of flour has been added. But, despite this, continue kneading.
STEP 5
With thorough kneading, the dough will take its shape and will not stick to your hands at all. The dough for the pie is ready. Cover the finished dough with film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. During this time, the dough will rest a little and will be ready for use. Use it for its intended purpose.
STEP 6
From this dough I got this pie with a diameter of 22 cm. 2/3 of the total volume went to the lower part and 1/3 to the upper. It is convenient to roll out the dough for the bottom with a rolling pin between two sheets of cling film. When rolled out this way, it does not crumble, does not tear, and turns out very thin. Try it!
