Seabass baked in the oven

Portioned fish dish, almost without bones. Sea bass baked in the oven can be prepared for lunch or dinner. No preliminary preparation is required for this. I will use fresh basil to flavor the fish. But you can exclude it or replace it with dried, for example.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake sea bass in the oven? Before you start cooking, prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is advisable to use chilled fish that has not been frozen. But if you only have frozen, then let it thaw on its own at room temperature. You should not use hot water for this. Because of this, the finished fish will be dry and not very tasty, since all the juices will leave it.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Fresh fish must be cleaned. Make a longitudinal incision on the abdomen and remove the entrails. Then rinse the fish well in running water. Be careful - the fish has sharp fins. They can be removed if desired. To serve the fish beautifully to the table, it is better not to cut off the head and tail.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Sprinkle fish inside and outside with a little lemon juice. This will remove the unpleasant, intrusive fishy smell.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then coat the fish inside and out with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt and spices. As a spice, you can use a ready-made set of fish spices or simply add some dried herbs. I use some dried dill.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Prepare a baking dish. It can be ceramic, glass or metal. Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Cut the peeled onion into half rings. Wash the tomatoes well and cut into slices, removing the stem. Grease the bottom of the mold with a small amount of olive oil, lay out the chopped onions and tomatoes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

    Then place the prepared fish.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add a few basil leaves. A couple of leaves inside and a few outside. Place the dish with the fish in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Use your oven as a guide.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

After the specified time, the fish will be ready. Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving platter.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

If desired, you can supplement the dish with boiled potatoes or fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!

We haven’t tried sea bass baked in the oven yet, but I saw this fish in the store and wanted to know what it tasted like. The fish are not big, so I took two for myself and my husband, just one per serving. According to the recipe, it is clear that this fish does not require any special preparation and is baked quickly. Spent a little time cleaning and gutting. I sprinkled the fish well with lemon juice, although the fishy smell was not strong, which is surprising) I rubbed the carcasses with universal seasoning, sprinkled with dried dill and basil, instead of fresh. And she put parsley sprigs in the belly. For the vegetable pillow, in addition to tomatoes and onions, I added literally one potato, cut into slices. I baked it at 200 degrees for half an hour, during which time the fish had time to cook, even a golden brown crust appeared. Well, the sea bass turned out to be not a bony fish at all, which made me very happy) The meat is white, dry, similar to pike perch. There are no unpleasant odors, on the contrary, it smells like lemon) And we liked the taste of the fish, especially when combined with spices and a vegetable side dish. By the way, the potatoes turned sweet for some reason. The fish turned out delicious, we will cook it again.
