I have saved this recipe for shortbread squares with cherries and chocolate sprinkles for a long time. And I recently made it! I took frozen cherries. I squeezed the cherries well, I was afraid that there would be a lot of juice during baking. As a result, I ended up with fewer cherries than indicated in the recipe. I didn’t use a blender when preparing the dough; I did everything by hand. I also took a little less nuts than were available, so when preparing the chocolate chips I had to add a little more flour to make the crumbs. Just in case, I made extra sides from the dough. The pie turned out very tasty, soft, with cherry aroma and chocolate notes! Great combination of cherries and chocolate chips! For the future, I need to take more frozen cherries, since I have a lot of juice left. But the juice didn’t disappear, I made cherry jelly.
