Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to cook rhubarb compote? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is better to choose large, thick stems, and leave thin, young and juicier stems for baking and desserts.
STEP 2

Wash the rhubarb thoroughly and remove the skin.
STEP 3

Cut the stems into medium cubes.
STEP 4

Wash the lemon and cut into slices.
STEP 5

Boil 2 liters of water in a saucepan. Add sugar, stir and cook for about 2 minutes until the sugar crystals are completely dissolved.
STEP 6

Add the rhubarb pieces and lemon slices to the pan. Bring the compote to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes.
STEP 7

Then remove the pan from the heat and cover the pan with a lid. Let the compote brew for 10-15 minutes. Compote can be served immediately, but cold after infusion it tastes better than immediately after cooking.
STEP 8

Store the finished compote in the refrigerator. Bon appetit!
