Quick fish pie

Simple, satisfying, tasty, even a beginner can handle it! A quick fish pie made from canned fish is a real lifesaver for those who have little time for more serious troubles with baking. You can prepare it from what you have on hand: sour cream, yogurt, kefir or yogurt. If you want a richer dough, add any oil.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make fish pie? Take the products from the list. You can take any canned fish in oil (I used Iwashi herring). Yogurt is either homemade or purchased, it doesn’t matter. Sift the flour through a fine sieve in advance to saturate it with oxygen.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour the yogurt into a bowl for kneading the dough, break the eggs there and add a little salt.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add soda. Stir the mixture well with a fork until smooth. The soda will immediately begin to react in an acidic environment - the mixture will bubble slightly.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Gradually add sifted flour. Mix well so that no lumps form. Let the dough sit for fermentation for 15-20 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In the meantime, make the pie filling. To do this, peel and finely chop the onion. Open the can of canned food and drain all the liquid, we won’t need it here. Mash the fish itself with a fork.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Line a baking pan with oiled parchment and pour half of the dough onto it.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

    Then add the prepared onions.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

And spread slightly mashed canned fish on top of the onion.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Fill with the second part of the dough. Place the quick fish pie in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 160 degrees and cook for another 20 minutes, depending on your oven.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

The cake will rise and brown. The top will then drop slightly - this is normal.
