  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to prepare quick blackcurrant jam with sugar through a meat grinder for the winter? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Choose currants that are ripe and strong, not wilted or overripe. To make jam you will also need a thick-bottomed pan and a meat grinder. The article on saucepans, link at the end of the recipe, will help you choose the ideal soup pot.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare blackcurrants for making jam. Sort the berries and remove the branches. Then place the berries in a colander and rinse with running water. Dry the currants on paper towels.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Prepare your jam jars. Rinse them thoroughly with water and soda or detergent and sterilize. This can be done in any way convenient for you: in the oven, in the microwave or on the stove. Also boil the lids separately. Read more about sterilizing jars, as well as other nuances of preservation, in separate articles using the links at the end of the recipe.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pass the prepared currants through a meat grinder with a fine grid. It's better to do this in small portions.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour water into a large, thick-bottomed saucepan (or saucepan if you are cooking smaller portions), add sugar and place on the stove. Bring to a boil and cook the syrup for five minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Turn the heat up high. Put black currants into the syrup, minced through a meat grinder, stir and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to just below medium and simmer the blackcurrant jam for 15 minutes, skimming occasionally. Don't forget to stir the jam.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Carefully pour the jam into prepared jars, cover with lids and sterilize for about 10 minutes in a pan of water (the water level should reach the shoulders of the jars). Cover the bottom of the pan with a cloth. Close the jars tightly with lids or, if using regular ones, roll them up. Let the preparation cool completely and put it in a cool, dark place. The jam that has just been prepared is liquid, but as it cools it becomes thick. Happy harvesting!

I picked some berries and decided to make quick blackcurrant jam through a meat grinder for the winter. The method is simple, clear and fast! To be honest, I didn’t want to take out the meat grinder because of the kilogram of berries, so I crushed them in parts with an immersion blender. I didn’t get too carried away, I just let the juice flow). I liked the cooking method of immersing the berry puree in boiling syrup. At the same time, the berries seem to be brewed, and a strong fragrant aroma of currants appears! And the jam cooks much faster. After boiling, the foam rose like a “flower”). I removed the foam, it’s also delicious, just right with tea. And I rolled the jam into two sterile jars. As it cooled, the jam thickened noticeably. It is very tasty and healthy!

This recipe is the fastest way to make currant jam. Everything is easy, simple and clear. I rolled up a couple of jars with lids and sent them to the cellar to thicken and wait for the winter, and I closed one jar with a nylon lid and put it in the refrigerator. I will drink it with milk or as a snack with tea. It is very tasty to pour this jam over milk porridge or ice cream. Thank you for the timely currant jam recipe!
