Prepared tomato and onion salad

STEP 1
How to make a tomato and onion salad for the winter? Prepare all the necessary products. Tomatoes are preferable to elongated ones - such tomatoes are perfect for canning. I use regular onions, but you can use red onions, white onions, and even shallots.
STEP 2
Wash the tomatoes, remove the stems and cut into slices.
STEP 3
Peel the onion and cut into feathers.
STEP 4
Place the tomatoes and onions in a separate bowl and salt them.
STEP 5
Add vegetable oil and stir. The oil can be any vegetable oil, even unrefined, aromatic. Choose according to your taste. Pour in vinegar. This recipe uses 6-9% vinegar, if you have essence, then dilute it with water in a ratio of 1:8.
STEP 6
Sterilize the jars in any convenient way. I just put the jars with a little water in the microwave for 5-7 minutes. But you can also sterilize them in the oven at 100 degrees for about 30 minutes, or simply hold them over steam or pour boiling water over them. It is enough to boil the lids for minutes.
STEP 7
Fill the jars with tomatoes and onions.
STEP 8
Place a towel folded in several layers on the bottom of the pan.
STEP 9
Place a jar of salad. Pour water up to the hangers, bring to a boil and pasteurize over low heat for 1 hour. As the water evaporates from the pan, add it little by little. Close the jars tightly with lids or roll them up. Store this product under normal room conditions.
STEP 10
