Potatoes in the microwave in a bag
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake potatoes in the microwave in a bag quickly? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is better to use crumbly potato varieties that require less baking time and become soft and crumbly after heat treatment. Small potatoes can be baked whole directly in their skins, after washing them first.
STEP 2
Wash and peel the potatoes. It is better to use crumbly potato varieties that require less cooking time and become soft and crumbly after heat treatment.
STEP 3
Cut the potatoes into roughly equal-sized cubes to ensure they cook evenly. Wash the potatoes.
STEP 4
Place the potatoes in a baking bag. If you don’t have one at hand, then a regular plastic bag will do.
STEP 5
Add salt and ground black pepper to taste to the chopped potatoes; you can add a pinch of paprika, ground coriander, dried basil or special seasoning for potatoes. Pour in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. It can be replaced with regular sunflower oil, but with olive oil it will be more aromatic and healthier. Add some water.
STEP 6
Seal the bag with potatoes and shake well so that the spices and oil are evenly distributed throughout the potatoes. Make several punctures on the bag with a fork so that the bag does not burst during baking in the microwave. Place the bag of potatoes in a fireproof dish and place in the microwave.
STEP 7
Set the power to maximum for about 10-15 minutes. After 5 minutes, check the condition of the potatoes with a toothpick through the bag and, if necessary, send them to the microwave for some more time. The specific cooking time depends on the microwave model and the type of potato. If the potatoes are soft, then they can be served. But extra cooking time for potatoes will also negatively affect their taste: they will turn out dry and tough on the outside.
STEP 8
Remove the bag of potatoes from the microwave and let them cool slightly. Cut the bag, place the potatoes on a dish and serve, sprinkling chopped fresh herbs on top and drizzling with oil. These potatoes can serve as a side dish for meat, chicken or fish, or as an independent lean dish. Bon appetit!
