Pickled plums without sterilization

Pickled plums have a special, unique spicy, colorful taste! I adore plums in any form, raw, dried in the form of prunes, in the form of aromatic jam, but pickled plums are delicious in a special way, they turn out honey-spicy, spices ennoble them and such plums can be served either with meat or cooked with they have various desserts and pies.

A few years ago I was treated to pickled plums. I remember that our whole family really liked this dish, but, unfortunately, I didn’t take the recipe right away, and then it was no longer possible. Since then, every year, when plums ripen at the dacha, I remember this wonderful dish, but nowhere could I find a decent recipe; everywhere, in my opinion, there was something wrong in the ingredients. And now, thanks to Abigail, my dream has come true, and now I can please my household with such an interesting and unusual-tasting, and most importantly, everyone-liked dish. I will definitely add it to the cookbook. Thanks to the author.

Nataleon, I will be very glad if you prepare plums according to this recipe. I just want to add that the amount of sugar can be varied depending on the sweetness and type of plum, for example, Hungarian is always sweeter, you can also add a pinch of cinnamon or a piece of stick to this classic recipe, but this is not for everyone

Abigail, I really liked your recipe, I regret that I didn’t see it earlier in the season, now the plums are so bad. But I still put the recipe in the book until the next harvest.

I opened the first jar with caution... (10 pieces in total, 700-800 ml each). I ate 10 plums!!! WITHOUT EVERYTHING. I’m writing a review... and it’s so nice so far. It's very tasty... so many flavors, it doesn't let go and doesn't go away! Thanks for the recipe, the only thing was that I didn’t pierce it before marinating. Many plums burst in boiling water.

I tried it, it turned out beautifully!, although the plums still burst. But I don’t like it very much (_), pickled zucchini/cucumbers are much tastier :). Such plums should only be put on a plate as a side dish, IMHO, for beauty. I won’t make any more. There were a lot of plums this year - the best option for preparing them turned out to be marshmallows (in the dryer on pallets for marshmallows). I made it without sugar, with a sweetener. I also rolled up jars of jam without sugar with a sweetener to try, and it didn’t seem to go bad in a month :)), although the jam would undoubtedly be tastier with sugar, but we’ll get used to it.

Pickled plums without sterilization for the winter are an exquisite delicacy with a sweet and sour taste! Plum is tasty on its own, but thanks to its sour and spicy taste, it perfectly complements meat and fish dishes. At the holiday table, this appetizer is a huge hit! Thank you very much for the recipe!
