    How to cook pea soup with smoked sausage? Prepare your food. I took green dry peas, but yellow ones will also work, choose only split peas, they cook faster. Any sausage will do, as long as it’s tasty. I chose hunting. Rinse the vegetables well under running water first.

    Rinse the peas, cover with clean cold water and leave to soak for 8 hours. Then drain the water in which the peas were soaked.

    Place the peas in a saucepan for cooking soup, fill it with 2.5 liters of clean cold water. Add the peeled whole onion. I always cook onions in soup this way, but you can add them chopped. Place the pan on the stove, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat, skimming off any foam, for about 1 hour until the peas are soft. At the end of cooking, remove the onion.

    Peel the carrots, then grate them on a coarse grater. You can cut it into cubes, it's a matter of taste.

    Peel the potatoes and cut into medium cubes.

    Peel the smoked sausages from the film, then cut into medium circles.

    Fry the sausages in a frying pan until golden brown. If it is oily, then do not add oil, otherwise add a drop of vegetable oil.

    After an hour of cooking the peas, add carrots to the soup and cook it, stirring, for 10 minutes.

    Then add the chopped potatoes to the pan. Cook for another 10 minutes.

    Add the fried sausages to the soup.

    Add bay leaves, salt and pepper. Cook the soup over low heat for another 5-7 minutes.

    Remove the finished soup from the heat, cover with a lid and let stand for 10-15 minutes. Then pour it into plates and serve. Bon appetit!

Pea soup tastes better with smoked meats. Instead of sausage, you can use smoked ribs.

For the first course I prepared pea soup with smoked sausage. There was a small piece of sausage, which I cut into medium pieces. I took yellow, polished peas. I didn't pre-soak it. While the peas were cooking, I fried the sausage. Finely chopped the onion, grated the carrots on a fine grater, and cut the potatoes into cubes. When the peas were cooked, I added onions, carrots, and potatoes. Then I added fried sausage and chopped dill. The soup turned out very tasty! Thanks to the author for the recipe and I recommend it for cooking 😘

It turned out well, however, my sausage is not smoked, but semi-smoked “Krakowskaya”.
