  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make orange liqueur at home? Prepare the necessary ingredients. It is better to take oranges with thin skin, bright orange color and aromatic. I made the liqueur in portions. It turned out to be one small bottle and half of the second. If you need more, then increase the proportions like this: for every 100 ml of vodka, take 1 orange, 100 g of sugar and 100 ml of water. The strength of the liqueur can be adjusted by replacing vodka with alcohol.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Scald the oranges with boiling water and rinse in warm water. Dry the fruit with a towel.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grate the orange zest, being careful not to touch the white part, so that the finished liqueur does not become bitter.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the zest in a jar and fill with vodka.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Close the jar with a lid and refrigerate for 5 days.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the oranges in a bag and put them in the refrigerator to prevent them from spoiling.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

On the sixth day, strain the tincture. Throw away the zest; you won't need it anymore.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Extract the juice from the oranges in a way convenient for you.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

In a thick-bottomed saucepan, combine the squeezed orange juice, water and sugar and place over low heat. Cook the syrup, stirring until all the sugar has dissolved. If you cook the syrup longer, it will thicken more, and the liqueur will be more viscous and concentrated.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

    Cool the finished syrup.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

    Mix orange syrup with tincture.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Pour the resulting liqueur into a bottle, cap and refrigerate for 2-3 days.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

The finished liqueur should be slightly viscous, with a bright orange flavor and aroma. A beautifully packaged bottle of this liqueur can be used as an original gift. Enjoy your tasting!

I liked the recipe, thanks to the author. You can also make this kind of compote for the winter from oranges. Both children and adults can drink.

Maybe I’m already falling asleep, but I read the recipe three times, and at what stage 400 ml of water is needed. I still don’t understand
