  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make meringue in the microwave in 5 minutes? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. There are only two of them: egg white and powdered sugar. If desired, you can use additives such as vanillin or citric acid to improve the taste of the dessert. Place a very small amount of them on the tip of a knife, otherwise the meringues will be bitter.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the egg well with detergent and then dry it. Separate the white of a chicken egg from the yolk; we don’t need the yolk, it can be used for baking.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour powdered sugar into a deep bowl; you can buy it ready-made in the store or make it yourself from regular white sugar using a coffee grinder or other grinding device. Add the egg white to the bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Using a regular spoon or whisk (you can use a blender or mixer to speed up the process), mash the ingredients until you obtain a thick, white, homogeneous mass. If it turns out so thick that you can pick it up, you can roll small balls of the same size with your hands - meringue blanks. If the mass is not very thick, then form the meringue blanks using a pastry syringe or place it with a spoon on parchment.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The main thing is to make small portions, because in the microwave the cooking process is slightly different than in the oven, and even if you want, you won’t get such voluminous meringues as in the oven. To begin with, it’s better to put a small portion in the microwave to get used to the power and see how it turns out. The meringue may burn if the power is set high.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

I dried the meringues for 1 minute at a power of 750 watts, after the beep there is no need to open the microwave door immediately, let the meringues “ripen” for a couple of minutes so that they dry better. Carefully remove the meringues from the microwave and separate them from the parchment. Since the meringue comes in the form of thin cakes, they may crumble a little when removed.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Serve this delicious, tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicacy to the table with tea or coffee. In addition, this meringue can be used as a base for making cakes and other desserts. Bon appetit!

As an option, I will suggest a method of baking meringues in the oven.

I really liked the recipe for meringue in the microwave in 5 minutes - convenient, fast, tasty. I made the powdered sugar myself in a blender, but it wasn’t as fine as store-bought, so I didn’t get very hard peaks when whipping the egg whites. My microwave doesn’t have a power of 750 W. I had to choose between 500 W and 800 W. I settled on the second option. At first I set it to 40 seconds. During this time, the meringues remained a little soft and moist. Bake for another 10 seconds. This time was enough for the meringues to dry better, and they could easily be removed with a spatula. When exposed to air, they dry out completely. When baked, the meringues inflate and deflate, as if they are breathing. The three of us stood, staring at the microwave and watching the process. The meringues turned out delicious, not as airy as those from the oven. But for a quick option, they came out very well. I was satisfied. Thank you very much!
