  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake mackerel in a slow cooker? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Peel the onion and rinse in cold running water. You will need a very small piece of lemon to sprinkle the fish with its juice. Also wash the lemon and pour boiling water over it. Mackerel is usually sold frozen. So give it time to thaw on its own at room temperature.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Clean the defrosted mackerel. To do this, cut off the head of the fish and make a cut along the entire bottom of the fish. Then remove the entrails and fins. Rinse the cleaned fish well in water and dry it a little with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the mackerel into 4 pieces of approximately the same size. Sprinkle a little lemon juice over the fish. Sprinkle a little salt and spices to taste. As a spice, you can use ready-made kits for cooking fish. In this form, leave the fish to lie for about 10 minutes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the fish is marinating a little, take care of the onion. Finely chop the peeled onion.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl and turn on the “fry” mode for 10 minutes. When the bowl is hot and hot, add the chopped onion. Stirring occasionally, fry the onion until transparent.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

As soon as the onions are fried, turn off the “frying” mode and place the mackerel pieces into the multicooker bowl. Add some more spices and bay leaf to the bowl. You can add a few peas of allspice. Pour in water, place the bowl in the multicooker and close the lid.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Turn on the “baking” mode for 20-35 minutes. During this time, the fish will have time to fully cook. If you wish, you can cook the fish using the “stew” mode, but then it will take more time - 40-60 minutes. The difference is that these modes have different cooking temperatures. Therefore, in the “stewing” mode, the fish will cook longer. Focus on the features of your multicooker!

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

After the specified time, the multicooker will emit a sound signal, which will notify you that the dish is ready.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the finished baked mackerel on a dish and enjoy. Bon appetit!

My favorite fish! I use this recipe to cook mackerel, albeit in the oven, but in a slow cooker, I think it will also be simple and tasty! All my people are happy!
